The peridot are 7 X 5 X 3 mm faceted ovals.  The gems are natural, genuine and have had no treatments.  The parcel has a combined weight of 9.70 carats.  There are 12 gemstones in this parcel.  Their colour is a lime green.  The best coloured peridot have an iron percentage of less than 15% and include nickel and chromium as trace elements.   Gemstones arrive in parcel paper.  Peridot have a hardness of 6.5 - 7 on Mohs' scale.  Their origin is China.  The parcel is good quality, eye clean, some gemstones have visible inclusions that can be seen with the naked eye.
The gem clarity is variable between eye clean and carbon spots that are seen with the naked eye.  The gem depth is also variable, it may be between 3 mm and 3.5 mm.  The 7 X 5 mm measurement of the gemstones is consistent.
Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one colour, green; although, the green ranges from yellow-green to olive-green and may have brownish hues.  Most gemstone of mineral origin are formed in the earth's crust, with two exceptions, peridot and diamond.  They form much deeper in the earth, in the region referred to as the upper mantle (peridot is found 20 to 55 miles deep in the mantle).  This means they are only brought to the surface by tectonic or volcanic activity.
Main world sources of peridot include China, Brazil, Madagascar, Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), and approximately 80% from the San Carlos mine in Arizona, United States.  Other deposits have been found in Australia, Brazil, Kenya, Mexico, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Vietnam and in Norway.

Historically important deposits were on the Red Sea volcanic island of Zabargad,188 miles from Egypt.  It was mined for over 3500 years, but forgotten for many centuries.  It was rediscovered only around 1900.  Ancient Romans called peridot the "evening emerald" because its colour did not darken at night and was still visible by lamplight.
There is no known treatment to improve the colour or clarity of peridot, so peridot is always an untreated gem.
The photos have been enlarged to show detail.  I have pictured the gemstones next to a dime for size reference.  I used LED lighting in my photographs.
Alternate names for peridot are chrysolite and olivine.
